Kazakhstan and Malaysia expand business cooperation
Kuala Lumpur, June 26, 2020 – In coordination with the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian companies «Minetech Resources Berhad» (MRB) and «Hadid Oil & Gas LLP» (Hadid) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the implementation of joint projects in Kazakhstan in the areas of construction and oil & gas services.
The MOU was signed by the Executive Director of «MRB», M.Chin and the CEO of Hadid S.Ariffin in the attendance of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan H.E.Bolat Imanbaev and Executive Chairman of «MRB», Y.M. Pengiran Dato’ Ts. Daud Pengiran Putera.
During the event, Ambassador B.Imanbaev called on Malaysian entrepreneurs to actively develop bilateral trade and economic cooperation, take part in the implementation of investment projects in Kazakhstan and expressed interest in transferring new technologies from Malaysia.
Executive Director of «MRB», Matt Chin said that the company has many years of experience in the field of civil engineering, which will play a key role in expanding the business and introducing «MRB» into new international markets.
The CEO of Hadid, which is a private company that provides comprehensive range of services in engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC), maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), and underwater services (UWS) for the energy industry in the Republic of Kazakhstan, S.Ariffin noted that after more than 5 years of successful work in Kazakhstan, it can be said with confidence that the country has great potential, especially in the oil & gas industry, which would be of interest to Malaysian companies. In terms of oil reserves, Kazakhstan is among the top 15 countries in the world and despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the country remains attractive to investors. In addition, Kazakhstan is a peaceful and conflict-free country, which facilitates doing business.
